I cannot believe I missed this work- very striking and creative partition between curves and squares. What is it?

Good one Max. I think I understand what Kim is getting at with the wood down the middle, it seems to divide the image and make your eye jump from one side to the other, sort of annoying/intriguing. Anything which is a bit disturbing is good, keeps the viewer involved.

From the thumbnail this looks way too busy, but getting a closer look I like all the different panes of glass, with their unique breaks and cracks. The one thing that I don;t like is the wooden frame running through the middle of the image... I don't think I'd mind if the dirt wasn't there, as it would look like a window, but with the dirt it breaks up the image and makes me feel uneasy.

Very cool angle! Glad to hear that boarder and camera survived. Too bad that the sky is so burnt out... can you burn around his arms? (sorry, i have no idea about dodging and burning... but I would think this could be possible.)
I hope this boarder was happy with the results!

hey max this is a sick shot
the only little nit picking thing would be to maybe keep the entire bowl in on the right hand side? it might help create a better sense of depth and draw people in more
just my little $0.02
was this pulled all the way back?
how is that lense anyway? thinking of getting one (one day ;-)) how much did it set ya back?

Well Brian 1 and 2, I like to see the face also. I was trying to get the board in full view, I will definetly reshoot this because I want to experiment with new angles.

This is shot in downtown Manhattan by the courts. I was asking about the walks, not directly about the place, but about how you meet people like that just strolling down the street. I know I don't. There were over 100 people at this event and I really had no time to set up for this shot or change my position because there were too many people. The flash was in manual mode, so it was a bit too strong and the scan came out too dzrk so it has a ourple tint to it.

ok... My two cents worth...

I think that the fill flash is a little overpowering... Other people?s cameras could have caused this of course, in which case, you couldn't help it. If it was only you there though (and I doubt it) try and reduce the amount of flash you're outputting.

Secondly, I think that your timing is fantastic!!! I would however try and shoot from a different (lower) viewpoint so that you highlight the "air" this guy is ridding...

All in all a very nice action shot, and I wish it was I who took it! Keep working on it! You obviously are very knowledgable of this sport, so keep at it!

Hi Max!

This is a nice shot, motion pictures are really dificult to make. Where did you make this shot? Was it in Berlin, for I know a place in Berlin, which looks like this. Is that why you were asking me where I go for my walks?

Hey Max,
I am a fan of this shot, I love the action and that everyone is focusing on him. It's a cool shot, later-Matt

Next to white eggs on white paper, I would bet Jonquils are one the all time hard exposure challenges. You handled it well (I suspect the problems we are seeing are with the scan. I am also not so sure I would have chossen a high speed film, but rather I would have opted for maybe PanF. To each his own... that what makes it all that great.

I nice picture, to remember a horrible story. If we should be a bit critical, I would have moved the camera a bit so that the two lights would have been a little more to the left.
