Thanks Darryl

I was about 5' from the water surface, as I was in a rib at the time. I was actually using a 200mm lens, so the notation above is inaccurate. I was lucky with the roll of the water too, as I was in a bit of a trough while the boat was in reality slightly higher.... This came out of 9 days of photographing a sailing festival, there were about 120 boats around all shined up for the summer season.

Simon,
I really enjoy your perspective in this photo. It almost seems that you are in the water shooting from the surface of the water. I get a strong feeling of action happening. Darryl

Thanks Greg. I might be giving something away, but this reminded of something out of 'Police Force' by Paul Seawright. This would probably need to be flashed though.

As I've replied to your other comment, the point of this was the way the placement of the human detretus. Where else would they put these things, and there are far more extreme examples of this globally, but as an exercise...

The point of this is the the pole in the surroundings, but the bigger point is the routing and placing of human objects through or around geographical features... The pole's configuration struck me in such an unpopulated area, but it is running from on town to another along the most direct and accessible route. It probably does require additional shots to make this point...
