The photo stands out as special, Mitchell. Maybe a little brighter on the left hand side would be good, but I would have to see it and compare the two. Excellent work. Beautiful silhouettes and reflections.

Lovely portrait, Suhaila. Beautiful colours and tones. Great composition and a wonderful expression on her face. Nice light in her eyes and good eye contact.
I just feel it could be a bit sharper.

Very strong image, Ryan. Good composition and colours. Well controlled exposure, keeping details in the highlit areas and in the subject. The backlighting works well and you've captured the mood of the study period nicely. Maybe just a little grainy in the face. (jpeg artifacts?)

I think this is the angle I would choose, Joyce!
Great photo with beautiful colours and good composition. Well done.

Wonderful timing, Scott. I just wish it was sharper. Still, it has beautiful colours and a great composition.

Well captured, Mark. Were you lying on thetrack, or something?

Good composition, well framed and great angle. I feel, though, that the colours are a little muted. Try increasing the contrast and sturation a little; at the same time use a little of the unsharp mask tool. I feel this would make everything stand out with that powerful feel that belongs to the sport.

Interesting use of the IR film, Greg. I was going to suggest the colours were odd until I noticed the film.

Good portrait; nice light in her eyes; good eye contact.

Lovely rustic feel to this image, Vivien. Good composition. Good exposure control, too. I just feel that you need to increase the contrast a little to bring out the richness of the colours.

Good composition, Brian, keeping the horizon low and concentrating on the sky. As for the sky, others have mentioned the bright patch; try a digital colour filter in a new layer in your image editor.

Superb, Aiman. Beautiful, rich colours, excellent composition, using the wide angle lens to its best effect. That one green panel adds a touch of mystique; I want to know why it's different! Excellent work.

Good photo, Nermin, with nice lines and composition. However, I would like to see it a bit sharper.

Excellent work, Jean-François. Beautiful colours and good composition. I'm not bothered about not seeing the model's face; it adds a sense of mystery. This would look good as a fine art print.

Good photo, Quinn. I agree with the comments about cropping the black foreground; Aiman has made a good suggestion. Otherwise, it's a well captured picture.

Great photo, Chriatian. Good composition, using the rule of thirds effectively, and good depth of field. The grass in the foreground adds depth to the image. Very nice.

Great photo, Scott. I'd like to see it sharper; it seems a bit fuzzy, probably from the scan. But it's a great moment; just what you would expect from any child in the circumstances. Brilliant timing.

In answer to Sarah's question, this is the Heart of Wales line at Llangennech in Dyfed. It is used regularly, but this is an unmanned crossing with good visibility. The local "station" is behind me in the photo. As for risking life and limb, as I pressed the shutter, that thought struck me. In future, I would suggest anyone who wants to take something like this (including me) should always work with a partner who can watch your back!

Strong composition, Sarah. Maybe needs a to be a touch sharper, but I'm not too bothered by the sky as others have mentioned. If you wanted to change it, you could try a digital colour filter; just add colour in another layer and fine tune the percentage saturation until you are happy.

Thanks for the comments on my railway tracks. It's the Heart of Wales Line at Llangennech. It is used regularly, but this is a crossing point with good visibility. The "station" is behind me in this photo. Glad you liked it.

Great photo, Arthur. I agree with the other comments that it would be better as a vertical shot including all of her and cropping tighter to hide most of the background.

However, you've caught a nice light in her eyes and good eye contact, and that's important in this type of photo. Nice details, too.

Great photo, Suhaila. It's a shame you couldn't get the pair in focus, but you have caught a lovely eye contact with both birds.
