Luis - this is a structure, made of Bamboo, and is used as a resting device for pet birds, pigeon. I found this is an old building, where the owner still spends good amount of time with his pets during dusk.

Outstanding pick up, perfect composition, right exposure. Green background and Pinkish Majenta cycle is adding the right spice and herbs into the photograph.

Dear David, I am truly honoured to receive such a comment. Normally I don’t take such photographs because I like more feature oriented work. I was walking in an early morning in north Sikkim (nearing China border), and was trying to capture the human element of those villages. Suddenly, in one house I noticed this. Simple, it’s so simple I found, yet too elegant. One more thing, I wanted to tell you. I take many classes on photography, and I use some of your photographs (with due credit, from usefilm website only) to explain the rule of third. Some examples are ghost of a friend series, trees I, ii, iii and iv etc…

Gurudongmar Lake or Gurudogmar Lake is one of the highest lakes in the world, located at an altitude of 17,100 ft (5,210 m). It lies in the province of North Sikkim, India, only some 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) south of Chinese border. This fresh-water lake[1] is located northeast of the Kangchenjunga range in a high plateau area connected with the Tibetan Plateau. Gurudongmar lake provides one of the source streams of the Teesta River.[2] The source of Teesta, the Tso Lhamo Lake, lies some 5 km (3.1 mi) to the east. The lake remains completely frozen in the winter months from November to Mid-May. The China-Indian border is still a delicate place due to it's close proximity of China-India -border. Due to the extremely inhospitable terrain and the difficulties associated with reaching the place, the lake sees only a handful of visitors each year. Access is strictly controlled at the Army checkpost at Giagong. The lake is named after Padmasambhava, the Indian tantric Buddhist who conducted rituals here. It is said that this is why, even at the height of winter, one portion of the lake never freezes. Guru Nanak, also known as Nanak Lama, founder of Sikhism religion, visited many of the places where Padmasambhava prayed at, including this lake in North Sikkim.

Last month, I decided to take my car for a minor repair to an unorganized garage near Eastern By-pass. They are actually from Garpar but evacuated due to new high-rise building coming there. I came across a boy called Aslam, and was quite amazed to see his skill while dealing with “malik” and the car. Aslam is getting trained by different Dadas on various interesting aspects of engineering and life.
A few shot of Aslam, his workplace environment and a few Dadas.
