This is a pretty nice shot...I like the flash on her face, draws me to her face as the main area of interest but the rest of the image is quite interesting to look at and enjoy as well. This is different, I like it a lot.

Joe,
Nice shot. However the fact that the flash is fired makes the colours seem a bit washed out. Maybe do a bit of curves. I like the different than usual composition, maybe the background should be black, or at least more neutral.

Very nice triptych. The black blotches on the left bottom parts of the right two frames are a bit distracting though. If that's the edge of your shots maybe try cloning a bit (though that is difficult with such textured grass).

This is basically a sound idea that just didn't come off technically. There is a basic lack of sharpness. I don't know whether it was poor focus or camera shake or not sharpening the image enough after scanning. The strange darkening of the sky in the upper right hand corner is very distracting. I would suggest a more aggressive crop at the top, or some significant dodging. I think your compositional eye was working fine. You just need to nail the technical details.

if you burn in the top corners i think the image would look much better overall. get them as dark as the bottom corners so there is a nice vingetting look. just my thougths
