Bill, this has to do with what reflects infrared light more or less. Man made objects do not reflect the light as much as leaves. The trunks of trees do not reflect it as much as the leaves either. This makes for the difference in tones. People in infrared look very ghostly. It is to me, like looking into a world that is there but not usually seen. Great fun when done well. Thanks for the comments.

Yes, well, if I could have adjusted the swan I would have. lol As I mentioned above, he sailed into the image after I had already set up and adjusted my camera. You can probably see he was moving at the time. There is a little blur. A few minutes later he sailed again right out of the image. It was a one time opportunity which I grasped. Glad you liked the image.

Thanks, Bill. Infrared works best with architecture or other forms of man made structure. It also renders great effects to skies and water. It requires a tripod for the longer exposures.

GREAT perspective on this shot. Not a familiar landmark to me at all, but I love what saw in it.

Thanks for your kind comment! I do believe there was a guardrail. I cannot image there NOT being one as trecherous as that road is. However, it was worth the drive for sure!

You are probably right. Dramatic lighting will improve a lot of things. However, in this case it was overcast and I had to work with what I had.

A subject matter that is done a lot. However, I find your version of it very refreshing. The smooth texture of the water and the softness of the sunlight reflecting is wonderful.

What an excellent black & white image. The smooth textures of the water and the fog are accented by the total lack of color. GREAT!

Thanks, yes, got the lens thing fixed but now am aggravated about the SS. No option to fill in anything other than what was in the list. Grrr. Anyhow, thanks for your comments. My camera does F2.8 to F11. There was no wind. Part of it is the F2.8 DOF, as you said, and part I imagine image compression. When an image goes from 1,000kb to 50kb, it suffers.

Lovely lighting on the white feathers of this bird. Perhaps too much dead space around it, but the blackness of the background certainly sets him off nicely.

Great perspective on this photograph. I also like the compositional placement of the rocks and the trees in the distance. It creates a very nice and peaceful landscape.
