Wonderfully 'tight' composition Peter, I love the way the shadows, & the left tree branch, all lead your eyes back to the tree trunk and then you have to do the whole thing over again because you have cropped the top of the tree off! Beautiful light and clarity too... steve

Wonderful framing and composition Patricia, Cartier Bresson would have been proud of you! I am so impressed with the way that so much of your portfolio is so full of maevelous 'decisive moments' and such sophisticated and instinctive composition framing techniques. Best wishes steve

I really like the composition Heidi..really original 'take' on the Flat Iron. Regarding the 'softness' you could try: a) Image - Adjust _ Levels. Then drag the left hand marker to the edge of the left hand (shadow) graph. Then the same for the right hand (highlight) marker. b) Filter_ Sharpen _ sharpen edges (once or maybe twice. Best wishes steve

Gorgeous light and colour; a real sense of the end of day Heidi, as with many of your images. They remind me of Joel Meyerowitz 'Cape Light' work. Ilike the variety of your portfolio..love the Manhattan stuff...'flat iron' in particular! Best wishes Steve

I am not at all surprised that you are a painter Dianna, this iamge, along with many of your landscapes, are so beautifully observed; the light and richness of colour is of very high standard. I must admit that I prefer your landscapes because I feel your 'painterly' visual style and sensitivity to light and colour comes across so well. Best wishes Steve

Hi Marcel. I really like the way that you frame and crop some of your images; it's good to see personal styles on the site. I find it really refreshing to see such simple and subtle ways of seeing...and it's also good that you don't have to go for the dramatic and the cliche (like me) in order to be pleasing to the eye. You must have a look at the wonderful photographs of William Eggleston! Best wishes Steve.

Hi Katie...what a beautiful image...! So dramatic...I am used to seeing your usual soft and subtle landscapes and so I am surprised to see you produce a photo of such drama and richness of colour.....fab! I also like the lens flare, it works really well with the intensity of light and shadow, and the image so powerfully conveys the sense of the midnight sun. Steve
