Nice texture but there is very little shadow to add to the overall atmosphere of the shot.

You're right about the overexposed top corners. A very thin black border can help me there I think.

you created a fantastic atmosphere. looks like it is out of a few centuries ago. well, i am ignoring the 1300 litre engine on that little boat
one thing that bothers me, is the overexposure on the top corners, especially on the right.

This is a nice B&W subject. The lighting is fine, but the photo needs more work on the composition. I think you should either move in closer, or position the boat so that there's more room above it. The way it is now, the empty space at the bottom seems redundant while the top is too tight. You should also get rid of the unidentifiable object on the left edge of the photo.

That is a great contemplative shot. You have some good detail in the shadows, which probably exists in greater detail on film, it is difficult to retain in scanning. Nice work.

Great shot. You can probably achieve most of what Paul's Photo suggests merely with a little cropping and curves adjustment to bring out the detail in the man's face. Best --Jim

= very nice pic. i like how dark the color of the younger one is. one suggestion, to frame the pic with the hangles of the chair, only IMHO.
