I prefer the toning of this version as it accentuates the richness of the fabric folds. The soft natural lighting you've captured gives it a painterly feel and the subject/composition is also intriguing. Nice work.

Probably my favourite of this model's series. I like the lighting here - nice glowing effect.

The detail in the eyes and hair is lovely. Soft lighting on the face gives a beautiful result. I'd maybe like to see a little more contrast with background to bring out the overall tonal range. This series you're working on is great to watch.

Very strong image of a great view. I'll have to try to find the location next time I'm down that way, I usually go to Hope Cove which isn't too far away.

Thought provoking images and accompanying words. Thanks for your interesting comments on my photos Mary, I like the effort you put into your thoughts, both on your own photos and others. I've just moved back to London so don't have proper computer access just yet, but will start viewing/commenting again in the near future.

When you're hot you're hot... Tremendous action shot Roger, you're getting great results no matter what you point the lens at...
Reminds me how much fun shooting can be - now I'm back in London I'll have to dust off the camera gear and start shooting again!

Wow. Another great effort Jan. Photos like this inspire me to wander up to some of my favourite Highland places, now that I'm back in the UK.

Lovely portrait Roger. You seem to have an uncanny knack of catching all the decisive moments going in Byron... You have been posting some terrific work while I've been away.
I've been travelling around Oz for some weeks and am now off to London very soon so haven't had much UseFilm time recently but will take some time to catch up with all the recent postings once things settle down.
cheers, Richard

Hey, a really nice result Kris! It looks like it was an expressive photo to begin with and the PS work has added extra interest. I'm up in the Daintree rainforest on holiday so haven't had internet access for a while, but will be back in a week or so and catching up with comments etc.

A pleasing construction Lou. I had a play around with some high contrast B&W variations and they had a certain appeal as well.

Wow, such a stark contrast here. I'm not sure whether you've boosted the light on the grass or whether the sun was peeking through to light it up. No matter, it's a good study in form and colour.

Wow, a lot of impact in this shot. Nice composition. Made more interesting by the people (father & son?) at the end of the pier.

lol, like the composition and great title. No I promised myself after a party in 1988 I wouldn't ever get that drunk again and I've stuck to it... more or less.

That's right, it's sometimes best to retain the colour caste when it enhances the scene, such as here when the warmth from tungsten adds a gentle glow.

One of these little buggers bit me on the neck once and it hurt like crazy. I can see from your stunning detail just why it did. Excellent work.

Wow, the silky sheen of the water in B&W is particularly eye-catching. Normally I've seen this effect in colour, but it works very well here as well. The racing clouds add a surreal touch.

The interesting aspect is the figure entering the frame abruptly from below. She appears to have dropped something.
It was probably not the place or time to be doing such things, but utilising a little reflected light or bounced flash on the wall would have helped open up the contrast on the subtle tones of the faded fresco.

It's the first time I've heard of kelp appearing as a "tryptych". I like the gentle study of these found pieces. The little pebble in the first pic makes me want to scratch my nose if you know what I mean, though that probably makes less sense than Caiado...

A well constructed portrait. I prefer the toning here to the previous shot, it seems a touch warmer and compliments the overall softness.

Yes, the clarity of the shiny drops contrasts nicely against the blurred warm background. As they lay hanging there, it builds up a sense of anticipation. The boy in me wants to flick them with my finger and send the drops flying, like popping the bubbles in bubble wrap...

I like the dominant shapes and your abstract treatment of the colours and textures. I wonder if it was the same place as Erics, (slightly different angle though). www.usefilm.com/image/26934.html
