Vehbi, Nice series. I've thought of doing a alphabet series many times but never followed through. Cheers!

No it is not OIL. The stripes are volcanic ash that was emmitted naturally by volcanos at some point over the last 500+ years. The Alutean Islands along southwest Alaska are highly active historically.

Beautiful depth of field in this image. I like the placement of the leaves in the right foreground. It gives your eye something to stop on. Horizon line following the top third line helps the image.

Very nice fresh image. Most of the photos I see of here are the same angle from below on the rocks. Looks like the waves would have definetly made that impossible, or at the very least dangerous.

Very playful pose. I like the soft focus and the way her hair slightly obscures the face.
Great stage work in your portfolio! What is the production/play?

I read up on the subject. Sounds like some very polluted stuff left over from mining. There were a few articles I found on South African mining which made reference to the problem. Thanks for informing.

Gary,
My comment to Fabio was "Fabio, my grandfathers generation waisted their blood in the fight against the Nazis. Seems as if you do not speak German!"
I hate getting political.
Nice image.

Great idea but a lot of times when taking portraits in bright sunlight you can get the subject frowning and skwinting due to the glare. Side lighting and pose is not as flattering.

Very nice image. One of Nature's Wonders Note: The area is very suseptable to damage from hikers. I recommend to all that do go to take care when hiking near and any use of tripods should have rubber feet extended to cover any metal spikes. (Leave No Trace)

Julie, Thank you very much. You have many beautiful and interesting images in your portfolio.
I was pleased with the results of this image considering it was a very, bright, cloudless day. The coordinates are for the exact location in the Chicago Botanical Garden in Glencoe, Illinois, North of Chicago. There are many images that are posted on usefilm of places I would like to see in person and I thought I might start posting GPS coordinates in case anyone else would like to do the same of any of my images. This was the first image I have posted the coordinates to but I may go back into my portfolio when I have time to add this information to other images.
