Thanks for the comment Danny. In this shot, the ball is actually behind the players in white. They are providing protection while he throws it. The picture is of a friend of mine's son, he is busy blocking #93 in this photo.

I love the "dreary" look, I really think this photo would benefit from a different crop. I'd remove the boat from the center of the photo and crop closer from the top and right . . .
