Very nice!
I'm curious though. What is supporting the bicycle and where is the bicycles shadow?
Overall wonderful colors and as Femke mentioned perhaps just a tiny bit hot on the right side grasses.

I'm wondering what the group of people are looking at. I'm curious... so to me, that is what is missing. It is a mystery is it not?
Kindest regards,
Barry

If you ever get back this way try and find time to come to the north end of Puget sound and visit the San Juans and Vancouver, BC areas.
Glad you had a blast this trip!
Regards. Barry

Thanks Paul. Frankly I'm not sure if it's underexposed or just the late afternoon light. I'll play with it though in PS and see what I can do.

Great shot Paul! Can't beat the Seattle area and the San Juans for great photo opportunities.

Hi Jim,
I tried this in many ways and this seemed to me to be the best of the lot. I went a bit further to the left - right on the edge of the cliff - but still had the road in the frame. When it was out of the frame so was most of the beach!
Thanks for the comments - appreciate them.

Thank you very much for the kind words Den. The seagull was a bit of a challenge as I'm sure you can appreciate! The shots were taken aboard a ferry between South Baymouth and Tobermory, Ontario, Canada. Children were feeding it which helped get it close to me.

Hi Katee,
The piano was made by J&C Fischer in New York. Circa 1870 and is what is known as a Square Grand.

The "Pierce Piano Atlas, 10th Edition" says:

"Fischer, J. & C., Est. 1840 by two brothers, John and Charles
Fischer in New York. Formerly R. W. Nunns & Clark and then Nunns &
Fischer around 1839. Made 5000 pianos annually around turn of century.
Address in 1855 was 243 to 249 28th St. New York. Taken over by the
American Piano Co. and then the Aeolian-American Co. in 1932. The East
Rochester factory closed 7/22/82."

Thanks for the nice comments!

Hi Neil. There is a point of land just to thr right with pine trees and a cottage but when I panned that way enough to include them they intruded too much into the sky. If I left just a hint of them it was distracting - to me anyway! I need to learn more about PS so I can fix that tilting horizon! Any hints?

I have to agree with Jim - take extra care to keep the horizon horizontal. Other than that I like it a lot. The foot prints are excellant!

Thanks everyone for the comments.
Hugo - no I don't mind at all. Thanks!
Jim - the shot was taken from a Washington State Ferry as it travelled between Orcas Island and Anacortes, WA. The zoom was at 120 mm so this is the best I could do. Or did you mean zoom it in Photo Shop? I've just obtained PS and don't really know how to use it yet! I'll try the tip you supplied. Thanks!

Great shot! It looks slightly overexposed to me though. Just my opinion.
Keep up the good work.

Love it! Seems to me it could be just a touch soft. Do you have sharpening turned on in D100?

Barry

Quite nice tonal range. I especially like the reflection. Adds to the quality of the scene.

Thank you everyone for the nice comments.
Jeff - the bridge is on the main road within Moran State Park. This park is on Orcas Island which is a part of the San Juan Islands. These islands are north west of Seattle, WA in the Puget Sound. Beautiful part of the Pacific Northwest!
