Yes, that second head detracts a bit. But she was completely surrounded by other costumed characters when I took the shot and I didn't want to miss the great light I was getting. Cheers.

I agree about the hand. And not to detract from the illusion, but she wasn't sad, she was actually standing on line to buy a soda. I have shots of her afterward where she is smiling and talking to her friends. Thanks everyone for your kind critiques.

Thank you both. My biggest shortcoming is post production mostly due to the inexpensive LCD monitor I use. Cheers, M7

Thank you all for the kind words. The unusual cropping in fact is no cropping at all. I saw this lovely girl walking by me in a large crowd and had only enough time to point the camera and shoot. Luckily exposure and focus were spot on, considering I was using a Nikon D70 in full manual mode! The picture you see is as it was taken. Even the color version looks wonderful. Cheers, M7

Hi Amanda. This is a great picture that seriously needs some post production. In fact, every great picture you see on this site has had at least some PP work. This is what a little tweaking in Photoshop can do.

It was COLD when this picture was taken, upper 50's to low 60's. Add in a 70-80 mph wind chill factor (on I-95) and the long leather jackets ain't such a bad idea :-)

Thank you. Judging by your pictures I can see that you have a lot more interesting landscapes to shoot than I do! Oddly enough I also took a picture that day very similar to your "Gather Wood" piece. Cheers!

Excellent juxtaposition of freedom vs. imprisonment. A masterpiece!

Ah, I see we have more in common than just photography. I see a similarity in our two compositions, even though I'm not in mine. I like the atmosphere.

Wow, Andy. You nailed it. I must have taken this picture just for you. You got exactly the point I was trying to convey. We even agree on the distraction. I was literally laying down on my sofa with camera in hand, and decided to shoot the guitar. Too lazy to get in position to get a clear shot :-)
Thanks for your comments. And yeah, I've been playing guitar for decades, taking pictures for weeks.

Thank you. The noise one of you refer to was deliberately added using "Film Grain" in Photoshop, which is why I placed it under Project 10 - Grainy Film for Effect. Thanks again for your kind comments!
