Nice capture! The out of focust checkered background makes this photo look like something out of Alice in Wonderland! Very nice!

Nice composition, and interesting flower structure... The imperfection keep it real, instead of turning the photo into a pseudo-abstract, which is a good thing, IMHO. A little bit soft, but still a very nice photo!

Beautiful composition - I love the contrast with the blue sky in the background. Good sharp focus & detail. You definitely needed more light in the foreground, though. Perhaps filling in with the flash may have helped a bit...

Beautiful colors and great composition! Almost looks like a model... I'm wondering how it would look with just a little bit more of the sky present in the photo.

I find that orchids make some of the more fascinating floral subjects. Great capture of a very interesting flower. The 2nd version is a little better, IMHO. Good job with the PS. You can still see the outline of the shadow, but only if you knew it was there in the 1st place. Great job!

Beautiful composition and very well-chosen point of view for the photo. Great motion capture!

Nice lionfish, and excellent lighting! Nice even focus as well. But the short DOF I think detracts from the photo, I think. When shooting underwater subjects, I've found that the surroundings are often just as important as the subject, gives it more of a context. Of course, this is just a humble opinion of one amateur U/W photographer

Fascinating creature, nice catch!! Familiar shapes in unfamiliar places - gotta love it! Would be nice to have the tips of the antennae also in the frame, as well as have better focus. The reflections aren't as much of a distraction as one might expect, IMHO. Thanks for sharing!

This place looks familiar! Quite a bit warmer than the last time I was there (windchill was -20ish). Nice DOF to concentrate the viewer on the gravestones. I like the slightly subdued lighting. I think it might have looked a little better if the stones took up more of the frame, though. Great shot!

Beautiful colors and cloud texture. I like the darkened outlines of the boats and the bird in the foreground.

Beautiful landscape! Nice colors and a good variety of textures. Looks a little bright, though. Is that early morning frost on the grass?

Beautiful photo, Tania! Very rich greens and good composition. A little bright in the sunnier parts of the photo, though. That bench looks just big enough for two

Beautiful composition and a wondeful photo. I think the colors could stand to be just a little more saturated. Also, the little structure in the background on the left would be better off being outside the frame, but that's just me. Still, a beautiful photo! Very warm & tranquil.

Beautifully captured shot! Excellent composition. Wondeful job with the DOF as well. Would you happen to have the details of the shot handy, per chance? I'm curious...

Very interesting shot. Great symmetry, with very good colors. And it could be just me or my monitor, but I think the photo may have stood to be a little brighter.

Very interesting abstract. Excellent color saturation and good composition. What did you use as the translucent base for the syrup?

Beautiful photo. I love the solitary feel... I think it might have looked a little better with the tree a little bit further to the right of the frame, though.

P.S. Thanks for you comment on my Cape Cod photo. You're right, it's the inlet near Barnstable.

Wonderfully done. I love the transition from the camera in the bridge's shadow to the ethereal gold hues beyond. The reeds in the foreground definitely add to the composition as well.

Ricardo, thanks for the suggestion. How about this? It's been rotated and isn't as bright. The problem with rotating the image is that the cumulus clouds in the background disappear in rotation/crop. I kind of like them there.. I'm thinking the original composition would have needed to be moved up to include a bit more of the sky. What do you think?

Very nice shot. Great combination of the moving, the permanent, and the temporary elements in the composition. I think it might look a little better if the image was a bit brighter.

Very interesting choice of subject. Nicely done as a photo. I'm just not quite sure what to make of it. Kind of short-circuits the brain when you look at it. Evokes something, I'm just not sure what. Confusion? Was is shot at a carnival?

Interesting angle! I walked through it a number of times, but never actually took the time to look up. I like the composition, but the lighting is pretty soft. Could your white-balance have been a bit off? Still, a pretty cool shot!

Great shot. Love the pelican's expression. They always seem to make for fascinating subjects.

I like the composition and the partly subdued lighting is very interesting. It's bright, gloomy, and brooding - all at the same time
