Hi Janet-
You really have gone floral on us. Hey, give me a call so we can plan a photo field trip, maybe the flower fields in Carlsbad? 5332882. Long beach prefix. I also found a couple of easy
how-to's for making a cheap light box for indoor photography.

I really like the colour saturation you've achieved here. I thought it might have been phoyoshoped a bit until I saw you used fuji.

Well Done!

Hugo, thank you so much for this very honest and insightful critique. I knew this photo had problems that's why I posted it. I had not posted in a long time and felt my recent work was a little rusty.

I so wanted this shot to work but needed advice on hoe to improve my future work. I tried going back to the original image and using your composition recommendations, but the image quality just isn't there.

I hope my next round of postings show a progression of improvement.

Thanks again,

Sean(Michael)

The colours here are excellent, as are the details. But I think it is the near perfect depth of field that really make this a standout.

A very intriguing choice of perspective. It gives the scene an abstract quality. You've also been able to convey a feeling of vertigo with this downward view. Well done.

Outstanding capture. The colors are great and the play of light on the dew is beautiful. I think the shallow DOF really works for this image.

You have a good eye for finding abstracts. The colours are very striking and the angles and lines add a lot of drama. Well shot!

Wonderful use of forced perspective. The way you cropped your shot gives it a feeling of infinite size.

Outstanding action capture! The colour might be a little too sturated for some tastes, but I think it really makes this photo pop.

Roger,
You are right about the black on black clumping. I think a better crop might have included only the two couples on the right.

Roger, Thanks for the comment and the link to your very amusing shot. One thing though, he's not my son as there is only a five year differences in our ages.

Jeffrey-

Thanks for the comment. I almost uploaded an uncropped version but I thought the spider got a little lost. See what you think.

This is a very intriguing shot. I've come back to look at it several times. I thought it would look good in B&W, so I took the liberty of converting it in PS. I also cropped out a little of the foregroung that looked washed out in B&W. Hope you like the results.
