Critiques From Ben Miller

Critique By: Ben Miller  (K:56)

Im pleased you have a high opinion of me Kev
Im sorry to say though mate that I dont think Im as good as you think I am.
It does not take a good or even great photographer to know that something is good or bad and if you have your images on a critique site, you will get a critique good or bad.
You certainly see yourself as an untouchable as far as the old photography goes.
I have my email on my page if you want to carry this on

Maybe Im a traditionalist but poor photography needs a lot of photoshop.
I see you use a lot of photoshop

Yes a more honest image but a tighter crop and straighter horizon
Thats what photoshop is for in my opinion
See image below Im sure you will agree

Would rather see a straight shot of this building
Not sure why the colour in the sky against the B&W?
I do like the use of lines as that helps the composition

Hey Im sorry my comment upset you, I thought it was an honest enough critique.
As you might see I had Peter tell me what was wrong with my image and was pleased he brought it to my atention.
I only have one photo on as I have just joined.
but thanks for your comment I will have a look at the rest of your images

A nice enough image with that nice tone you get from HDR images
I like the low point of view and rope leading your eye to the boat.
The only problem I have is the boat on the right hand side should be either fully in or out of the image and is very distracting.
I see also you might of pushed the sky just a bit much in the right of the image as you have a lot of colour blocking.
Almost a good image
