thanks for the view and comment - and i will re-load this in a few days. the original is in RAW format and dropping it to meet the jpeg rule makes for some problems. must say i admire your images-proves that creativity is not reliant upon the latest in technology. david

did you think about cropping this -say from just under the rock -leaving the shoreline and wave?

mate i am sitting at my desk in Nantong [2 hours out of Shanghai]and if ever an image jumped up and shouted 'g'day' it is this. having spent the past 4 years taking pics in China i wondered what i would see when i get home in july. - what exists to compare with the Great Wall etc. and thanks to this image i realise that the real art in our work comes from how we manage to elicit an emotion with our images and that is what is meant by the saying '1 pic = 1000 words' this image of clunes could not be any where else than Home. thanks

thanks Len for taking the time to post. kids are always hard to take just as they are hard to fool. these 3 live in a remote rural village outside of Xian-China and Westerners are few. when i was looking through the shots I got the feeling that the 3 expressions just about summed up the reaction of the community towards us, with the girl in the middle really saying most. it is untouched apart from some cropping and was one of those rare 'just happened' moments.
