I don;t know if I'm looking up at something or if I'm looking down into something. This is the beauty of this picture. Nice crips tones and colours. The "Needle" is looking good, haven't being there for a while.

Dramatic lighting and a pretty flower.
But the light is not bringing out detail in the interesting central parts around the stamen. That part is shrouded in darnkess and is a bit murky.
My sugestion would be to place the flower/light source differently, to light that central part a bit more.

Touching...I agreed with your comment to Timothy.....Although he IS young and just starting back into photography,
All of our work
(professionals or amatuers alike) leaves room for improvement.. And once you've humbled yourself, thats when the real creativity starts flowing.

I think that 90 percent of the work on here is better than mine, I am not a fine arts major, but I do know what a critique is, I just wish you would have told me what you didn?t like about the photo, rather than posting a condescending ?definition? of the word Cliché. But it doesn?t matter, I?m not that sensitive, I was just in a bad mood last night. Sorry

Everyone else seems to like "Blue Iris", It is interesting how most of your things have been on over a month and you have very little comments or views on most of them. Although, I do like some of your stuff, some of it is interesting. But if you have something to say about one of my photos could you just say it without posting a rude and seemingly clever (yet actually pretentous) definition of something you think you don't even understand.

Hi Preston, A very good shot, The combination of the rigid concrete and steel of the parking and the curved line on the tarmac is excellent. Very graphic shot, with a lot of tension in it. The shadow of the grating is a definite finishing touch. Very well exposed photo, too.
