I think this is really beautiful: composition and color. I was wondering how you acheived the color?

"the light is good, tho i suspect id like it even better with more diffuse light"
I have to take them as they come displayed, this is parked on grass in daylight, mid-morning, Palo Alto Concours.
Here's a Cadillac.

Thanks, Stephen; I shot these all at arms length just wading in the water with the kids playing. This was done with an old goofy 120 camera, the only controls are f11 or f8, hence the 50 speed film. I'm guesing from the results the shutter must be a 60th. The photo store has some Hungarian 25asa I'm going to try, and some Velvia. I'm after an amateur, timeless feel. Tough to put any filters on these old things. I got some NeoPan on someone else's recommemdation, will try sometime. Know of any 50 speed color neg?

I'd love to see a bunch of these blown up big and hung on walls. They bring back joys of being a child and the wonder of the beach.

Great shot. I'd love to hear a little more about exposure, metering, filtration. I've shot a few rolls of this with absolutely no success!

Not only is the composition stunning, but the quality of inner light to the various elements makes them come alive. And the fabulous color. What a piece. Everything about it is right.

Sorry, I guess my comments didn't make it through.
The model was nude, but in this image nothing offensive was showing so I called it a portrait.
I think if there is nothing visible that you wouldn't see on a public beach, its fair game for this site. They don't want nudes and I respect that, but if nothing is showing post away.

Thanks.
Gorgeous models? You hire them!
No, I work with a mix of ordinary people and models, depending on my financial state at the time. There are a number of bulletin boards on the web where you can contact fine-art models; once you're in the loop they're pretty easy to find and work with. Treat them with respect and pay them fairly, its usually worth every penny: better work much more efficiently because they know exactly what to do, but ordinary people are fun too.
