swinsty is one of my favourite lake walks and places to take photos. the main lake is angled all over so provides many diffent perspectives. next time you are there, look out for the houses that surround the lake, the manor house is one that would look really spooky surrounded by mist.

oo-er! that effect brings out a new intensity that I wouldn't have thought of before! In B&W his eyes look deep blue rather than brown, and I think that's what makes it look a little scarier!
thank you, i may print this B&W and send it to him mum!

Evelyn, as Les says its a true 'moles and all' picture! the original (here) is just a general point and click, i just cropped it to the 'interesting' bit. i asked a friend why this one should get so many hits - and she said it's because you can't work out what the shot is of!

thanks for the advice kostas.
I'm not sure about the shutter speed(s) on the litle fuji. its pretty much a point and click thing which is about all i can manage at the moment.
i'd probably opt for a cannon 300D if i were to get another camera, as this seems to be the most popular SLR digicam...
in the mean time i'll experiment with the fuji and share the results on usefilm!
btw - love your work!

there were lots of very bad shots, but i did find this one interesting with the s shape of the lights caused by the shudder of the car!

funily enough I have only cropped this image. I don't have a good photoshop editor!
the colour is as was in the fading light, I didn't use the flash as it was outdoors. There were a lot of people trying to capture eros, but they all had big SLR's!!

i'm a little new to all this and do get a little afraid of the adjusting levels thing! here's the original - i'm maybe thinking i should have left it as was?

i actually prefer the second version. it is drawing you to look through the window, whereas the first focuses on the objects inside.

i like the pose of the cat on the lily pads, anf the paint effect is tunning. i'm just a little off put by the red eye, could that be removed?

the b&w version evokes more emotion than the colour. it brings out the detail on the ivy leaves and the bark of the tree.

Thanks carlos. i'm always a bit afraid of messing with the lighting on these pics. it does seem to bring the action out a little more.
