The day I shot this pic there was a LOT of haze from fires in Idaho and California, but I agree I should have beefed it up a bit.

The Big Guy on the left was just telling Junior to keep a respectful distance when on the way to the waterhole. Just one good slam made the point, and they continued to the river and drank.

Lovely composition.
I thought it was going to be a BW with the thumbnail. I like the point of view and the surfaces very well done.

Times like these wish I had a fish eye lense to get even closer.

-cheers Geoff

Really effective 'abstract'... As I've said far, far too often, the best abstracts are the most natural...

Ben:
My thought would be this is a bit overexposed, probably due to the water reflection. I would think that you could shoot this in RAW, then correct exposure for the dark bison and save there. Return to the original RAW and set exposure much darker to bring out the water better and save it. Composit the two images and you get the best of both worlds. (I see everyone has edited your image . . . No problem . . . it's a fun image anyway.

Doyle I <~~~~~

Benjamin,

Your composition and lighting is a bit much. I have taken the time to post and edit your work.

Martin’s take on this one… A bit playful, but I enjoy my work…

Benjamin,

I love the symmetrical look down the center of this wonderful capture. I also like the rule of 3rds you used regarding the power line post on the left and the foreground posts.

The only thing that bugs me is the small lens spot on the second wire from the top on the right. I will address the grain, brightness and contrast at a later time.

More technical data is needed, so that I might help improve this shot more...

Well done indeed,

Martin

PS. Now that’s a critique my friend…
