Very similar to one I did: http://www.usefilm.com/image/831384.html I think the spray design is even similar
Water parks make for such fun photos!

Merci Etienne!

She was watching a bird fly over the bridge. I'm not sure what type - I heard it, but was too busy photographing her We saw a blue heron fly over a little later - it was beautiful and so big!

Thanks so much Martin - you are very sweet! I have actually been busy lately getting a few photo jobs, but hopefully I will have time to post more fun Southern artsy pics soon Thanks again,
Andrea

Beautiful! Esp. the ambering towards the body of the guitar and the way it fades to black all around - very creative way to disguise a flash too! I've done a few music shots and had a hard time with blur but didn't want to use a flash. I like the way you did this.

Love this! Noise included! The top of the cat does look a little soft but he totally compliments the jagged edges of the plants. Great colors too.

"Therefore nobody wanted to insult you by bringing up the fact that your wonderful capture included poverty? You should conceder it a complement that no one mentioned it?"

I highly doubt she would be insulted - lol. For one thing, there really is no connection to hairstyles representing certain socio-economic classes, esp. not in the U.S. If anything, there tends to be more artistic and philosophical individuals here who wear this particular style. But I've never been able to judge people based on how they wear their hair

Also, as a photographer we don't always want to capture the rich, elite lives. I have several photographs that are more poverty-related and that's the exact message I was getting across, so it wouldn't be an insult if someone associated that "feel" to them. Although that is clearly not Melanie's intention in this beautiful head shot. There really isn't much room for interpretation in a tight photo like this. It's a head shot, I don't see a message of any sorts coming across in this. I guess that's part of the art though - everyone has their right to judge the image based on their past experiences.

Great contrast to the photo and direct light on your son's face without washing him out. Good job!

I hadn't had bacon in probably 5 years, but it's an old staple of southern, country breakfasts in America. That and sausage (which I have a harder time eating than bacon). You can see why we would have such a problem with obesity here, and the lard it was frying in is animal fat (like it needs any -lol. I have to admit it smelled really good cooking though

Thanks Keith - I was going back and forth on whether to keep this in color or do it in black and white - I really like the black and white, but the yellows and blues were so vibrant too! I'll have to post the black and white version later - thanks!

Here's an old Coca Cola machine I found on my last trip to Ky - it doesn't work anymore, but here's the link to that photo for anyone interested: http://www.usefilm.com/image/772786.html

It could be more than 20 years old; I didn't expect the Sunkist to actually come out of the machine when I put in my .50 - lol! There was also a machine that gave out baseball cards for .25, and the cards were yellowed with players from the early 80s. We ordered a pizza but had no plates, no central a/c - it was a different experience for sure.

Thanks Kevin. It was soft morning light but I also used the "curve" feature on PSP9 in this photo. I really don't know the technicals of this feature as I kind of play around with it until I get the desired effect. This is very close to the original but the curve brought out more hints of red in the foxtails and silver/tin in the barn.

yeah, I meant to look at the date on it. I'd guess late 70s/early 80s? I took the photo as is, and forgot to turn the box over to see the dates. Looked like you fill the shotgun shells yourself? I don't know much about stuff like this, as the only thing I shoot is photos - lol.

You know what? I don't know how to check out that feature on photosite! Go to my www.andreaharrisphotos.com site and then to bio at the end or purchase at the end and you should see a link to my email address, if that still doesn't work I'll type it out weird here so spammer people can't get it We're leaving for out of town tomorrow so I won't be checking emails for a few days after that. Enjoy your 4th!

ooo, no I didn't get the email. I'll check out the guestbook, I hadn't even ever looked at that before - lol! I'd post my addy here but I did that once on a public forum and started getting all kinds of spam so I don't write it out on the internet now.

Yeah, I wish I had gotten the rest of the shovel in it too. I waited around for a person, I thought having a person in the shot shoveling the wood or coals would have been great but never saw anyone.
Thanks for the comments.
