The Robin Hatchlings look divine! Mother Nature & backyard birdwatching are awesome, aren't they!? While the mom is away, the photog gets close-ups. Hopefully, the baby thought you were mommy getting the early worm..... Will be looking fwd to more photos to follow the story. Great Ornithology 101-documentation shot!. I like the composiition & DOF-control, considering the vegetation you had to work with C-J!!.

nicely shot and very evocative of the lonely waiting of old age. i maybe would have cloned out that white thing at the bottom and cropped a bit more tightly at the top. Also, and i know there's nothing you could do about it, i wish there was just a feeling of space between her and the right hand border of the frame. i know you couldn't do anything about that, i'm just wishing my morning away here.. ) Once again, beautiful lush colors and very well seen. i'm sorry again for the ratings you were given..very undeserving..kat~

i really am so shocked at the negative rating (sans comments, to boot!!!!) that you received on this image. i think you were severely unappreciated here. The gold in this child's pigtail (which clearly is the subject!) is almost liquid fine, the way the tendrils have flown out so natural and summer pretty..the only nitpic i can make is the one blownout highlight at the coller of her shirt. i am sorry you left here, but if my images had been so poorly received, i would have left as well..kat~

Hi, CJ, this showed up in random pics and i couldn't figure out from the rpofile what it was so i gave a click..what an amazing scene awaited me! This mother bird, covered with rain, protecting her little ones from exposure..who among us have ever seen such a thing close up? Like everyone else, i'm sure, i've always wondered where the birds go in the snow and the rain and the bitter cold..how they manage to survive since they don't have burrows and barns to hide away in. This image of mama with her protective shield of water repellant feathers spread out over her nest tells me so much.
