Whatever you did to the original, it works. I really like it, the colors, the patterns - well done. I could picture this hung on a wall.

I think the best abstracts leave you wondering what the subjct is - and this one definetely does that! I also like how some of the bubbles are in focus, but too much focus takes away the mystery - nice balance. If I had taken this picture, I'd frame it. Great work!!

Enrico,

I think this is my favorite - the color of the lights and the background are very complimentary.

Thanks for the answers to my earlier questions. Just a few last ? - what were the light sources for the photos? And to be sure you move the camera, the lights were stationary, right?

Thanks so much, I really enjoy your work.

Ciao, Greg

Enrico,

I really like the 3 "light painting" shots. This one and #2 both look like abstract paintings and are well done. I kkep lookingin at them trying to figure out how to duplicate the effect. Would you be willing to describe in more detail how you did this? I would appreciate it. Once again, great job.

Have to agree with Ellen, like the dark tones and love the eyes, but that bra takes away from the overall picture, IMO. Otherwise, good capture.

Stefano,

I like this shot, except for one little detail. I feel the moon, though very small, is distracting. It always draws my attention, maybe b/c I really like lunar shots. I hate to be so picky, it's just my opinion.

keep up the good work - Greg

Daniel,

Nice composition and "pose", it looks like it might charge you. Hope you were a safe distance away.

Thanks for the comment on my Annapolis doors. And next time, I'll the "about" section more closely, sorry about that.

Nice shot, even if it's a little dark. The absense of home plate and the batter adds intrigue - which raises the ?, what happened?

Interesting shot. To better replicate a mountain range, maybe you should make one knee (I assume) lower than the other. Enjoyed your portfolio, keep it going.

One ?, does your anme have anything to do with the U2 song from the album "Boy". Just curious.

I love shots like these, where you use elements in the view to create a frame. The bike adds to the picture, gives you something to think about (where's its owner, how'd it get there, etc).

Nice work

Very interesting perspective. makes a great shot. She really looks like she's inviting you to come after her. I get a bit dizzy looking at this shot, but that just means its having the desired effect.

Thanks for the comment on sleeping Winston - he's quite the character and likes to pose as well.

Felix,
You have created a wonderful image. The four flowers create a perfect leading line, with a staircase effect. The balance of the colors, yellow flowers, blue sky, is nice. And I like that you included the hills in the background. One small suggestion - the center flower is too centered, try cropping so it moves to left of center, if you can.

Great work, Greg Rowe

This is great! How many shots did you take to get this gem? I hope your dog is careful and doesn't laugh at all bikes, as I understand in Belgium bike racing is huge Love the compostiton and DOF.

Morgan,

This flower really pops off the page. Great composition.

I'm so envious of your portfolio. This shot really highlihgts it - you've got an eye for photography and you know what to shoot and how to shoot it. If I had half the talent you do at your young age, I think I'd be a world famous photographer. Keep up the good work, it's why I put you on my friends list.

Manu,

Nice shot. I think what draws me back to this photo is the opposing colors and the geometry - they do seem to have a relaxing effect. I can't decide if the ladder distracts or adds to the shot. Oh well, I'll just have to keep looking at it

Gary,

I see the side view of woman's torso and head. It's sort of spooky. Good composition, btw. And the second post has a dog with a really long tail, oh what maybe it's a cat. Two good captures.

Alicia,

Nice shot, but I think to make the cowboy stand out more, I would have given him color and no one else. Maybe that's not possible, I don't have PS, so I'm unaware of its capabilities and limitations. Also did you try cropping it more to really focus on the people in the pit? These are just suggestions to give the photo more emotional impact. As it is, it's a good capture, hope to see more in the future.

Paulo,

Magnificent shot! I love the reflection of the light on the bridge and the water, and even on the leaves of the tree. Talk about a "golden hour". I think 2 other factors really make this photo stand out. One, is the shadow cast by the bridge onto the water. Two is the framing provided by the trees, they provide a bit of mystery to the shot by covering the bridge and not allowing you to see it all. Going into the favorites!

Francesco,

Thanks for the critique. If I were to take this picture today, I would set my aperture at f/13 or higher, and adjust the shutter acordingly to underexposure just a bit, say -0.5. But when I took this it was with a SLR set on automatic function. I did not know what dof and shutter speed was. It could be a much better shot if the 'frame' were more in focus and the sky and lake had more color. When I get PS, I'll work on these things. Once again, grazie

P.S., love 'magic red' and 'ps photorealism' - you've got some great photos

He/she looks so peaceful. Great DOF and composition. I love the outstretched paw - our cat does that too! In fact demiu looks like our cat Winston, I've got a picture of him in my portfolio, if you're interested. Once again, great shot!

This is a keeper, great shot. One suggestion, if you could delete the label, I think it would enhance the impact of this photo. Love the blue, its soothing - which is rare in an inanimate object. Well Done!!!

Good composition, I especially like the diagonal shadows. They add alot of character. Just one thing, the sky looks strange. It looks like it was overexposed, but now that I look closer it must be reflecton from the white paint.

Good capture!

Interesting perspective. You should submit it in the latest photo project "alternative perspectives". This is a perfect example of that, as its a totally differnet look at a subject alot of people are familiar with. Also, good DOF.

It amazes me how the simplest pictures can capture so much. This is one of those - it evokes so many good feelings and fond memories. Also, centering the tree works very well for the compsosition. Bravo!

It looks like she does like to pose! My dog is like that too. If I posted all the pictures I've taken of her, the Usefilm'e server would crash! Lacey reminds me of George Rodrigue's "Blue Dog", but I'd bet she's some sort of Australian sheepdog mix. Great compasition, but I'd crop out that post at the top, it's a bit distracting. You have some really good macro shots in your porfolio, keep it up!

another great shot! it looks like you were right in front of them, you must of had the telephoto on 300m. great DOF. just one suggestion - to fully focus on "diet cheerwine", have you tryed cropping the right side out? that might make a more impressive view of her.
