Beautiful capture, lovely reflections - but why the frame? It distracts the eye from the photograph.

I'd love to see this image half a stop brighter. You didn't do a bad job with the sky but there are lighter patches where you dropped the exposure and it's a bit distracting.

I love the composition though, the fluffy white clouds and the lush green grass with that fantastic windmill occupying the frame but not too dominating.

Thanks.

Beautiful! My only critique would be to sharpen the image - there doesn't appear to be an obvious point of focus - is there in the high res image?

Hey Rachel! Thanks for the nice comment! Yep this one's pretty gross close up - it was a cloudy day so the lighting sorted itself out, as for DOF - well my old nikon manual focus macro was spot on - they don't make them how they used to!

Yeah, nice shot, good composition. I think this could be even better with a snoot lighting across the face from above....

Nice work - very colourful and of course interesting exposure from HDR. Did you ever consider climbing on to something so as to shoot the monastery square on instead of to the side so that the ornament in the foreground was in the middle of the frame? I think this would look much more pleasing composition-wise and you'd still have seen the steps etc...

Oh yes! Very nice portrait! Love the choice of crop and love the tones. Is the high res sharper? Beautiful!

Nice setting, love the pattern in the timber. I wish you would have shot this at 90 degrees to the window instead of slightly side on. Nice expression on the lady too - good capture. I would tweak the curves though :-)

Great to see a before and after Rachel! I like the harsh sidelight, the slight over-exposure and the "serious" looks you both have. If I were to pick fault with anything it would be the distraction of the zip on your coat (I presume it's a zip!) and that maybe a little bit of space from the left could be cropped off. Other than that, this would be a great one to hang on your wall!
