Hey Ian,
I appreciate your interest. I do not know if there is personal message system on this site. Please send me your contact email address with details, like size of the canvas, mounted, framed, ect
at persikoff@yahoo.com, so we can discuss it.
Thanks

Hi Joao,
I use Canon 50mm f1.4 and 85mm f1.8, those are not L series. I believe the L glass is better for contrast and PQ, but quite expensive. I also believe one should buy the best glass one can afford. I do have 135mm f2 L lens which is fantastic for portraits and such. I'm also using 17-40mm f4 L lens for landscapes and it is proven to work wonderfully.
Hope it helps and happy shooting.

Anthony, serpents are hidden for public safety, so no one would be turned into a stone. :).

Nothing is added on. The model is just 3 weeks from the hospital after she was hit by a car and had a surgery. :(. Removable cast was taken off for the shot. The scar goes 3 more inches down the leg.

Nice capture, pity the shutter is too slow, 1/250 can not freeze the high speed.
Cheers.

My main critique would be a focus problem. The focus here is on the forehead and make not much sense. The eyes ussually are the most important feature in that kind of portraiture and here they are out of focus. The nose and the lips are out of focus too and it gives that feeling of technical problem rather that intention to communicate something.
Among other small things : right lower corner with shoulder is a bright spot and a distraction; the nose shadow is a bit cruel; the backlight could be also better, but that is minor.
Hope this is helpfull. Best regards.

Terrific photo! I think it's what real photography is all about. The light, the composition, the story. Cheers.
