I've been trying to decide what PS would be the best for me and I would like to know what PS you use? You have fantastic shots and I shoot in raw but I don't feel I get the most out of them or even realize/understand why I do in the first place. If you could help me that would be great.
Cheers, carter

Yes, the low winter sunlight caressing the stones on the road. Nice. The middle section of the road which is most bathed in sun looks a little jagged, pixelly to my eye. That's surely a result of JPEG compression. The feeling of cold touched by warmth is what's important here, it works.

wooooooooow this is terrific!!!!!! what a superb light over the ground!!!! how great delicacy of golden hues of sunlight mingling with the blue-violet of snow!!!! fantastic shot also for the powerful perspective and slightly unleveled point of view, that's accounted for an even more impactant result! you have captured that unique moment when "all things work togheter for the good" - to quote Saint Paul heheheeh! - the sun just about to sink beyond the hills, the magic sunbeams, the perspective and colors and textures.... well that's made a great whole indeed! warm congrats!!!!
and have a happy newr year!
ps: AT LEAST the administration staff noticed your work and took the fair attitude of granting you an award. nothing else than absolutely deserved. what a shame for them do not grant you many ones more. cheeeeers!

Beautifully done Carsten. Again your work truly IMPACTS on those who visit!
But I do hate to see a piece as great as this used as prop to advertisements. Phenomenal bad taste! The inconsideration for the artist is patently obvious. The contempt for the work transparent
Be well my friend. Happy holidays.

At last, one of your beautifully envisioned and executed landscapes gets a well-deserved award! Congratulations... The rays of the sun just skimming the surface of the road and picking out the individual stones give a tremendous sense of what it must have been like to stand there are see it. This is the real genius of photography. No sense at all of all the PS work involved!

Hey there Carsten...now that is detail in the foreground. This gives me a chill, and I feel like I'm standing right there with you at the angle you've shot it...the road comes right up to my feet! Beautiful landscape at a difficult time of day to capture. You did a great job on it. Have been away and won't be around much until after the first of the year, so just want to wish you Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year's too. Hugs. Antonia

uno scenario semplice ma allo stesso tempo unico... tutto il lavoro lo fa la strada ghiacciata illluminata dal primo sole del mattino, creando un'atmosfera surreale...

A beautiful image Carsten. Very well thought out and successfully executed. Don''t worry I'm not looking for seams but I'm sure I wouldn't see any even if I was looking. ;) Wonderful exposure on the sun and great detail throughout. Great shot.
Hope you have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Cheers - Ann :)

Hi Carsten,
Very intersting workflow, using the two landscape formats; Would've never thought of that, but the effect is fabulous. Creative approach, and a good alternative to medium format photography, I think. I appreciate your specific explanation, and it all makes perfect sence (as is evident by looking at the photo. The low, soft light creates a great contrast between the cool, icy tones and the warmth of the glow. (appropriate title)
Good stuff!
Cheers,
Hugo
