Hi Jeanette,
I've been studying Physics (Paris VII) and Computer Science (Paris VI) between 79 and 85. You've been so close to it: L'Institut du Monde Arabe is just on the other corner of Jussieu block!!...
Best regards.

HI there again, i like the mirroring you did here and the negative space used so nicely between the buildings as well as the old vintage look of one of them and the other new metal one. Nice seen and done! A place i missed in my own visit!

Thanks, Dear Ina, and glad that you find it interesting. Jussieu is the name given to the university that has been built (in early 70's I think) in place of the anciant "Halle au cuir" (in the 6th arrondissement, between Rue des Ecoles and La Seine). The central tower hosts the main administration. The picture is taken from the main entrance of the campus. I have lots of good souvenirs of this part of Paris as I have been studient at Jussieu for almost 6 years! There are a few other shots that I'll upload later. Best regards.

Excellent use of negative space, Aram! I think the sky shapes play as important of a role as the buildings in this perfectly symmetrical composition. For one, I don't know this side of Paris, it looks very 20th century modern. Very interesting details - as the eyes are roaming to find an anchor outsideof the linear building - are the red - brown murals or designs looking like torn maps. Very strong composition and very "even" - is love or hate towards this architecture? Time will tell :)

Terrific cityscape, Aram. Looking at it I feel so insignificant, there is such nice power in the photo. Well done! Steve

Love the lines in this picture and the use of the buildings on either side to keep you focus on the center piece. Keep up the good work.
