Brilliant color. Loved the warm tones. But there is bit of emptiness which could have been balanced with some object or prop. May be location didnt allow that

I like the reflection of the colors on the water. The presence of bright light and the darker light ad to the beauty of this photo. The cloud make a nice backroung.

I posted a comment for this image: perfect composition, too. Also thanks for the comment. You asked about the equipment. The image "Face from the past II" is shot with Canon 100-300mm zoom lens at 250mm nearly, wide open and Canon Eos50 Camera. The best wishes Stephen!
PS
Equipment is not so important to make a good image. All the images you want to photograph are in your brain. Camera and the lenses are just tools to do that. Burim Myftiu

Sthepan, tip to sunset from John Shaw's Book. In the spot meter, meter the sky just aside of the sun but don't include the sun in the meter. In the meter your camera read open one stop. Then recompose and shot. This rule is flawless. Sorry for my poor english but if you want more information feel free to email me alexuchoa@uol.com.br

I agree with Marc on the different directions of the wakes. But I would've much preferred it if the other boat was also included to create two diagonal focal points to lead the eyes into the light. The sparkle off the water is wonderful, as is the general colouring of the shot. The horizon is half a bubble off level, which can be corrected digitally or prevented with the use of a bubble level in the field.

I like the soft tones and colours of this, and the composition is great w/ the boat wakes alternating directions. The front wake leads to the left, and then my eye got led right back to the boat on the right. Only nit is the very slightly tilted horizon. Great simple shot, Marc
