Thanks, Brian, for the kind words. The lens is still new to me. It is a prime lens of 300mm that I was using with a 1.4 extender yielding an effective 420mm. Add the 1.6 factor of the camera and I end up with a focal length of 672!!! It's rather like a telescope--tricky to find the subject but terrific when you do. ;-)

You're right, Larry, they're not cloned--just two of a kind! And, yes, we do have some flowers in bloom--daffodils, too! ;-)

Lovely the way you made them stand out from the background, George, each one twice! the colors, especially the eyes, are superb. Sorry for being late in responding to comments. Since coming back from Uruguay, where everything is done "eventually", I move in slow motion. Thank you for your very kind comments on my recent photos. Best regards, Rafi

Thanks, Don. I have another shot with a female that I'll post soon. I am nothing close to being an expert, but my bird-watching daughter tells me these are hooded mergansers.

These look a little more like wood ducks. They sure have bright feathers. Very pretty. Don.

I have never seen birds like these, a sense of being painted by a modern artist. The reflections really add to the surreal feeling for me. Even the ripples were going your way.
