A wonderful night shot, Paul! I like the way you caught the falling rain in the light, and the reflections off the wet pavement. It makes me shiver just to think of being out there that night! Good b/w conversion, too. Dave.

I love this one Paul, the vanishing point is great, wonderful perspective and mood!! You are very brave to shoot in those conditions! I love the streaks of rain in front of the lights, and the wet textures reflecting the light, can't imagine this in color, great work!!

Putting this in Criquers Corner is a REAL challenge! What possible criticism could be made of this wonderful B&W picture? You've captured the contrast between the cold, wet, lonely and very dark bridge with the warmth of a close human relationship in the spotlight. A real fable for our times. And technically quite impecable. Chapeaux! Definitely one for my favourites.

Hey Paul, noticed the shot originally cause of the French title. Really nice, great compo and crop. Amazing how even some rather strong rain can't get in the way of a couple in love (as Mick says, "Love is Strong" - LOL). Great looking bridge, reminds me of Prague (haven't been to Heidelberg but should put it on my list).Very Nice Work, Mark 7+

i do not mind the shiny pavement at all. on the opposite, i think it counterbalances the artficial light, which cd have otherwise ditract the eye from the couple.
you are truly a bridge expert!

An excellent image with wonderful mood and detail Paul. Great balance of the different elements with just enough light on the lady to lock the couple as the main subject. One small point of critique is the shiny pave block middle bottom which distracts the eye from the focal point - a bit of burning or a slight crop might solve it. Otherwise a great image on all accounts! Regards. Joggie

Paul, What a perfect title! You really got the image quite crisp for such a slow shutter speed. It worked well to bring out the best of the lighting.
There can be no better weather or location for a break-up of a long romance :( That is my take on the scene anyway. Andre

Fabulous! Really unusual capture -- you were out in the rain. Amazing how great the light is here given it's night. Beautiful composition. The focal point is on the people at the right...or is it off in the distance on that man coming down the road...or is it the rain? I like this aspect a lot. Masterful job. Antonia

Stunning image, Paul! The bridge and the lights would have made this an outstanding shot, but add the rain or snow shower to this, and you get twice the mood, the wet pavement reflecting the light, and the cold of that night. Excellent perspective and dramatic mood! Even the couple seems to have some some issue, they don't look like regular strollers in love. I think this picture certainly deserves a prize :) Best regards, Ina

Marvelous night shot with addition of arty details to the composition, making a different between a night shot and an exclusive piece of art work. Looking at the rain fallen gives a life scene as of watching a film. This is really outstanding shot. Congrats for such well balance night work. Saeed Ps. imagining you under umbrella, shooting this scene, I think this is a hand held capture isn’t?

Simply spendid - you deserve some sort of recognition for this one. The only thing that could make it better would be to have shot it not quite so straight on but that is a very minor point. I love this one! Wish I took it.
