A wonderful image Giovanni! I feel so much dynamism from the DOF and flying bird and the split upper and lower focus give the whole image a truly three dimensional image! The BG, though outside the focal plane, feels quite complimentery and I think this is top notch work. I would have preferred to see a slightly wider crop left and perhaps a tad bit higher . . . but thats mostly because this image is so very entrancing and the added space would help out the composition by adding a tad more dimension. Very nicely done!

It is a great capture of bird action, Giovanni. Your composition is really great, and the palette is nice. The posts and netting add a lot of interest. It may be a choice of yours to have the tone be muted, and that's fine. My personal preference would be to decrease the brightness and increase the contrast very slightly, as below, to make the colors pop out a bit more. Great work!! Steve

this is a great capture, love the composition. I wonder what your camera settings were because the bird is not sharp..maybe it was just some camera shake if you had a long zoom lens. Even the flipping of the mirror can cause enough shake to impact a long zoom shot. the timing of your photo is great... good work

Hi Giovanni,
I like the colours in this photo, the tones of the poles match those of the bird perfectly. The action and dynamism in this photo definitely are another very strong asset. Good work!
A pity you didn't include the camera settings, it looks a bit soft, but that's probably due to a relative slow shutter; the stationary elements seem well in focus.
Well handled DoF, though, blurring the background, thus placing the emphasis on the important elements very well.
Good shot!
Cheers,
Hugo

Molto bella... Composizione stupenda. Se c'era un po' pił di luce, per avere un tempo pił breve, era perfetta.
