Hi Ali,
well simulated post-war shot. Looks like real doesn't it?
No, I don't like it but...this the kind of photo I'd try myself. Not beautifull just hard.
Hmm...well yes I like it, should be lying if I didn't say it. :)
Rate 6 because it's in colour, 7 if it was in B&W.
Keep it up my friend,

Alain

Hi dear Maxime.. First of all I have to say that it's real sad that we wont be seeing anymore of your fantastic work here in usefilm, I'll surely miss them my friend, But it's still great to recive comments from you as your comments are always great... Many thanks for the great comment on this shot and for all the info, Well I have given a good link in the about of my shot so people who are intrested can get some information about the Iran-Iraq war but I decided not to write too much because I didn't want to make it political or anything and as you know many people visit usefilm from Iraq.. ones who may have participated the war under Saddams pressur or whatever..(I'd better stop or it'll get political;) ) So .. I don't know .. I mean I can't explain.. anywya many thanks for the great comment and for checking my portfolio.. It would always be a great pleasure to hear from you..

Take good care...
My very best wishes from Iran..

Dramatic shot ali. I feel horror that the content is so real life. The photograph and its artistic content are so compelling yet I can't help but to be somewhat disturbed by the image. They say photographs can say what words cannot. This work is a statement that many should see, and remember. I wish you all, peace and good will.

I would just to see your reaction to my critical remark, then I’ve observed you second picture of your series. I see Robert and Ray have described very wisely and much better what I would to say. Then I’ve decided just to mention some information, which perhaps makes your wonderful art and remarkable work a bit also worthy regarding to journalism-method I mean.

The Iran-Iraq War (called also the First Persian Gulf War), start 22 September 1980 and ended 20 august 1988. Iran called “the Imposed War” and Iraq meant it was “Saddām's Qādisiyyah” (Saddam’s Triumph I suppose). The war cost both countries over 1/5 million victims and 1.19 billion US$ without any political and military consequence.
Best regards: Maxime

Excellent shot, aLi. Very well posed and the colour work in Photoshop suits the subject very well. To me
it speaks of the horror of war and bloodshed. Very powerful. I remember the Iran-Iraq war and the death and suffering inflicted on both sides was terrible.

Ali Naghizadeh Ali Naghizadeh   {K:19600} 5/6/2006
Hi dear John.. I guess I totally misunderstood.. Well I havn't thought much about the martyrdom concept myself and the title of the shot wasn't chosen that thoughtfully, as here in Iran, they call all that have been killed in the war martyrs. So I just named it that without much thinking!! anyway.. thanks alot for the reply..

No no no aLi, my apologies for your misunderstanding! UseFilm is the BEST venue to post your work, political or otherwise using the photographic medium. Personally I've always had a "thing" with the whole martyrdom concept, but hey, that's just me! ;) I look forward to more of your pieces! Sorry for the misunderstanding. -john

This is excellent my dear aLi and your friend looks 100% a victim of those terrible times in this harrowing scenario. Some of us asked for more realism and you have delivered with this composition. The point of focus is stunning and the dramatic gesture from the appealing hand is superb. The dof is perfection as the hand bears the message in beseeching noiselessly for help. A tricky subject to touch upon given that UF members come from all around the World but you have handled it well and this time with particularly good effect. My very best wishes to you as always.....Ray

Hi dear John.. Many thanks for looking and leaving a comment.. Well ..you're right my friend I guess usefilm isn't the best place for this series of mine.. and this shot wasn't uploaded for any political reasons or anything. The iran-iraq war is just something a lot of us iranians including me have spent our childhood in and have grown up in..
anyway I guess this will be the last upload of the series.. thanks again for the good critique..
