Hi, Yes, I pick them, then shoot in my studio (viz., kitchen). I finally did this since outside shots were so disappointing , with constant motion from wind. This way, I can do a real high f to get good dof, and light. The black is a piece of matting I had left over from a pic I framed. You can make it darker by using levels in ps and darkening background, after lightening mid tones a bit. Requires fooling around with it. You can use flach to get different effect. Try both. I take several shots of anything andhope something turns out. Digital is great for this! Thanks.

Well shot. I'm curious how you get the black uniform background. Did you pick the flower and bring it back to studio? Flash?
