Great picture, lucky to make such a hot. The haze has an intimacy to it, If you could I would like to see the head of the deer lit up to see a little more of its face features. That would make the intimacy of the picture more real.

Beautiful portrait of the wild. You have skillfully captured the guarded watchfullness in his body language. :) Andree

A lovely semi-silhouette, highlighting the beautiful horns and profile of this beast. I think what makes this shot work the best for me is atmospherics. The air appears very hot and dusty due to the warm colors of light, the gradient of light from dark toward light at the top, and the exposure choice. This creates a strong sense of environment and place. Very well done!
Best, Mark

Thanks Miles for your visit and yes I've many wildlife shots taken with the sun...coming soon...but need some time to go through more than 4000 photos taken during the whole trip. You have a stunning portfolio...will certainly visit more often! Mireille

Welcome back Mireille, we've missed seeing your posts. I love this contre jour semi silhoetted animal portrait my dear. The shot is well composed against the golden glare of the sun with excellent positioning of the Kudu and superb sharp focus. Well done to you sweetie, I look forward to more from this holiday of yours. I hope you had a fabulous time and that you feel well rested and content. I am on my usual weekly catching up following work. My very best wishes to you as always....Ray

Nice use of the available light, and well placed in the frame, this really gives a nice hot dusty feeling. I hope you got some shots shooting with the sun as well to capture the colours on the animals.

Excellent, Mireille! I love the backlight and silhouette. Yet there is still enough light to see details. Very well done! Marion

I am glad you are back Mireille. I was missing your dreams, skies and endless fences. Happy to hear that you had beautiful holidays. I suppose that we are going to see many African animals and places. Your first one is excellent for me because, if you remember, I love the strong sun contrasts. Mireille I hope also in some African flower! Welcome back to us. Good night.
Giuseppe
