Hi Joe. I like this version too. I like the close in crop and the more natural lighting. With subjects like this, there are many different views that work equally well (imo). I hope you don't mind, but I did a quick crop on the original that you posted yesterday... a little less zoomed in than this one, but showing the complete reeds and shadows. It's really all a matter of personal preference I guess. (i may have added a bit too much contrast, but I was just wanting to play with the crop more than anything.) Cheers, Gary

Thanks Steve for your comments. I've worked with this image a fair bit. This time I used a tighter crop, cutting off the tops of the reeds and part of the shadow. My intent was to lead your eye into the centre of interest concentrating on the light on the reeds and the highlights in the snow rather than taking you out and away from the reeds. I certainly appreciated you opinion and will take it into consideration.

This is nice. Good exposure and composition. I like the shadows moving up to the left. What kind of gets me a little bit is that I want to see the top of the reeds. Nice shot.
