What a very good capture of this bird. I never knew they go into breeding colors. We have them here too. Eating the goldfish out of my pond!! Thanks for sharing this excellent photo. Peterson's or the other Birder's books should be coming to see you any day now!

Wonderfull bird shot. The composition positioning the birg looking into the scene is perfect. The tight DOF help to pop-up the bird and its luxury colors. The background (cramy green defocused) don't disturby the foreground and help to enphatize the details of the bird.Flawless work.
