About Holy crap, I love HDR. This is one of my first attempts at HDR landscapes. Again, a little less HDR-y than a lot of people tend to prefer or produce, but I wanted/had to tweak it. It just looked too cool with a little darker shadows.

So, anyway, this is a photo I took this photo on my recent vacation. This was taken at White Sand, in Southern New Mexico.

This shot is one of around ~4,000 I took while on the trip down to Southern New Mexico. :D I'll have more shots of this crazy little area during sunset up soon, so check those out if you're interested in seeing more of this beautiful state.

Canon EOS 350D (Digital Rebel XT)

Great colors, and a very good HDR. Now I feel I should practice this, I was following the thread in donor forum about HDR and got plenty of info to practice. This is a great composition.

Bhabesh

Thanks, Mark! I rather like this shot. I think I would like a bit more contrast, though. I bump up the contrast a bit, but apparently not enough now that I look at... :( It's not that bad, though. I'm trying to decide whether or not to change it.

Hugo,

I agree with you. The more I kept looking at this photo, the more I thought there needed to be more contrast. I may end up resubmitting this one soon.

Thanks!
Morgan

Hi Morgan,

The combination in colours in this one is pretty exceptional, and the cloud cover adds a lot to this photo.

I think it could even use a bit more contrast - HDR, heh? I think applying a soft light layer mode to this photo would punch up the tones and contrast just a wee bit more, increasing the impact of this photo. Also my preference, though. It's all subjective....

Cheers,

Hugo

Thanks very much! It's three frames, shot in RAW, with -2EV, 0EV, +2EV. Photomatix does a tremendous job with HDR. I've been extremely impressed with that program. It's relatively cheap, too, at ~$100 USD.

Beautiful shot Morgan. Excellent composition. I thought this was an HDR shot given the shadow detail, very well done. How many frames did you merge and at what EV difference.
Regards,
Collin.

Azules intensos y la luz se cuela por esa frnaja dejando su calidez!
Felicitaciones!
