About The poppy is my favorite flower, shown here growing along side the olive trees in my beloved Andalucia... which is very soon to be my new home. :)

You are absolutely right on that John!
I hadn’t even noticed that I had cut them off…it’s one of the dubious joys of using a digicam on a very bright day and not being able to actually see what you are taking!
I'm looking forward to next spring and being there in Spain to take losts more shots. :))))

The splashes of red of the poppies help them stand out against the background, so in my view the background does not need to be more blurred. What might be nice would be to see more of the stems of the poppies - one or two of the heads are truncated at the bottom of the image.

I love this, Meg, but probably for myself, I would have removed the one dead poppy.

:))) Nice work Meg...

Patting myself on back 'cause I looked and thought, 'poppies and they look like olive trees'... then I read your about and comment/reply Joe... ~~GRIN~~

Love poppies, olives can take/leave... Olive oil is the only oil we use... Beautiful, rich and fruity...:)))

Extra nice DoF, plus , also get the terrain and climate aspect coming through Meg...:)))

Extra nice dear friend... :))) Your almost there... OLE!!!

Onie...

Thanks so much for your valued comment Joe. I know what you mean, but with this shot the intention was to have the olive trees almost in focus.... Two of my favorite things in one shot. :))

Those vibrant red poppies sure jump off the screen, Meg. Great colours, very sharp focus, very nice capture,
My critique would be that I would prefer slightly less dof so the background is more muted and less distracting.
All the best,
Joe
