Very nice light and composition, Jason. Love how the light on the ground highlights the jetty.

Thanks for the critique Sam, you are right I didn't see it until after I had done a small print and yourself and Cathy pointed it out, I was concentrating on the Jetty and Lighting that I missed it in the shadow. Saying that i'm thinking I'll leave the footprint that is perfect in the shot and get rid of the other blurred one. thanks again mate talk to you soon

thanks for the critque Cathy, the distant lights are from Williamstown on the other side of the harbour. The footprint is probably one of a number of people that night stopping to see what i was photographing. I didn't actually notice it till yourself and Sam brought it up. but i'm going to leave it in as a human touch. cheers Jason

I like this image. I like it alot. It lingered in my vision asking me why do I feel incomplete. After much tought, I think its contrast. Contrast between the very sharp details of everything pier and foreground and the very soft water. My mind keeps looking for detail there and does not find any. My failure? perhaps but I AM the critic in this case. Cheers and I still like this image. John B.

Nice use of color. Those lights really make a great showing over such a long exposure. I think it's the lights' soft reflection off the water that really makes this a standout image. I really like Shirley's crop suggestion. That makes a strong image even stronger. Very creatively envisioned. Good work.

Ok Jase, Since this is Critiquer's corner, here goes.
I Lover everything about this image. From the Perfect shadow line. The Stars from the lights. The reflections of golden orange of the lights off the water. to that Dramatic Sky Way off in the distance. I thought I couldn't find anything wrong with the shot to give a good critique, but alas, I found something. In the Lower right hand corner of the shot amongst the shadows. I found a rather large shoe imprint in the sand that shouldn't be there. I know you are probably testing us and have already removed it from your print version. but just incase you missed it. I thought I would let you know.
7/7 even with the shoe print in the shot.
My Best regards
Sam III

Love the colours in this and the uncomplicated stucture of the image. Simple, elegant and beautiful. There is a story in the distance where the jetty is taking us, but there is an other story in the footprint in the sand in the foreground. Well done. CC

I think you've tackled a difficult subject well here Jason. Given the obvious exposure length I'm very suprised that there is not far more flare coming from those lights. Great perspective mate.

everything is look great...
but there is a very simple thing that better to be done ...there are too much dark space under the beginning of the jetty way, which is distracting my eyes... i can not concentrate on that beautiful perpective of light along the jetty...
otherwise lighting, shutter and exposure speeds are great...
Keep it up!
Cheers, Ardalan...
