The white feathers against the dark background make for a very dramatic presentation. I'm guessing that getting the proper exposure on this was difficult. It looks like the bird's "butt" feathers are a bit blown, hoever there is a wonderful gradation of tones in the bird's neck and "shoulders." (as you can tell, my knowledge of bird anatomy is next to zero.) Anyway, I am being too picky. This is a great shot.

The plumage display is just absolutely gorgeous. Color is great and lighting is perfect. The only problem I see is the distracting branches in the background my eyes tend to wonder towards them and I think they compete for the viewers attention. A matter of angles I guess but I know this is easier said than done. Keep'em comming! Now this is what I call feathered :-) Otto

Very beautiful photo! Great lighting on such a difficult subject, with beautiful colors and detail! I would have liked to have seen his head up and to the side a bit more, but it's still a wonderful capture!
