Surfing or skimboarding in one foot of water sounds much safer to me! I guess he was close enough to shore for you to capture him with the 300mm end of your zoom. It's a great and very atmospheric shot.

Hi Stan - This is actually a skimboarder and that water is only about 1ft. deep.

Nice clear image and great timing. I used to surf when I was young in La Jolla in the 60's. Surfed up and down the coast back in the days of hodaddy's and rad! Takes me back to the life of the sea. Thanks!
