Just for having a clue about what it would like with less exposure I diminished brightness of the whole image. Unfortunately the tree seems to darken much quicker than the background. (Attachment.) So I guess that should one want a less bright background, then some other angle would be necessary. Perhaps turning around the tree until the background is not as bright?

Good detail and texture, Nick, although I find the bright background a little distracting. It certainly is high contrast, though.
