It has such a strong definition of its subject, especially in the DoF, Salal, that it really remindsme of some exquisit shots with a medium format Hasselblad! Exceptional in is detail and lighting!
I wonder if a more expanded DoF to the background would make it better, as I assume that then the details of the back part of its head would be also as good visible as on the front and the eyes. But the way you chose to shoot it also has other charms. The details and the face seem to evolve out of softened area toward the center of the image.
Very very fine work!
