I'm with you on this one Koen. Very static. Just not enough visual interest for me.

Your intention is good, but maybe you can get up even earlier :) The light is already quite contrasty. Since it is coming from a low angle (with the ground), the texture of the sand is nicely visible here. I like the warm light too. As for the composition, try to put your subject off the centre. If your lens permits it, you could try to get somewhat closer too.
