This shot appeared at the end of a long day shooting at one of my favourite locales near where I grew up. I was on my way back to the car after shooting several rolls of film ... the sun was going down and I had packed up for the day. On my walk back along the seashore, this glowing white monster of the sea appeared before me and I dropped everything and unpacked my camera - fortunately I had some film left and managed this and only one other image of the same scene, as they were the last two shots I had left!
The beauty of this giant adult Cuttlefish was arresting ... I held hopes that with the high tide quickly returning, that it was still alive and would get a second chance at life. Capturing this majestic creature of the sea was a humbling experience for me and in some way it served to honour the wonders of nature.
Beautiful image. Those "last shots" always turn out to be worth it. Glad you had the film left and I too hope the tide returns for your cuttlefish. Mother nature has her way of doing things though. Well done and excellent shot.
