Thanks for sharing Simon! I need to get some filters for my work just haven't yet. I always use a UV/Haze filter but now I know I need a polarizer too! These are wonderful!

G'day Wayne,
Thank you for commenting on my work, it is appreciated. This image was taken on a large reef near my home - the waves breaking in the distance show only 1/20th of the scale of this magnificent slab of nature. On this day I discovered a very small pool of water with two shells and a piece of coral with none to be found anywhere else.
Common practice might dictate I get very close down to the shells, which I did in other shots, but with this image I wanted to show the grand scale of the reef - the minute nature of the found objects in comparison, and finally the deep tones reflections of the clouds and sky in the shallow tidal pools.
The deep dark tones of the foreground is due to the the sun sitting behind a mountain to the left ( out of shot ) which casts a shadow over this area of the reef. I employed a Blue/Gold Pola to enhance some of the reflections which is why some of the water has an electric blue quality.
Best, Simon.
