About Once Emperor Akbar shifted its capital from Delhi to Fatehpur Sikri (16th Century). A complete township was built within a short period. But the new Capital had to be abandoned within four years time due to scarcity of water and was shifted to Agra Fort. It is still a marvellous architectural site for the visitors.
