Wonderful. I love the light shining through her hair. Nice. You seem to be a good person to ask since you shoot nikon and I have noticed that you have fixed lenses and zoom. Can you see a difference in quality from the fixed compared to the zoom lenses?

I think the human form should be bent, posed and molded into something interesting as you have done well. I wish that I could see the rest of her arms and hands though (but understand why I can't -- because of your explanation of the image).

Danny: This is my standard door shot. The client hangs off the door with the lights in my office behind. The light off to the right is a 60 watt tungsten bulb pointed at the bookcase. The reason it is there is that it gives the illusion of a source for the light on the hair. One out of two hundred clients don't like it--the others think it is the sun. The light behind her is a halogen studio light. Her face is lighted by a gold reflector bouncing back the escaping halogen light into her face. Most of the time ambiant light outside is enough to eliminate all light inside the office. In this case, it was a dull day and you can see the frames on the wall behind her. A little neg retouching--or photoshop would eliminate all of this per the specifics of the client. But I hate to cheat on an image and this was the way it was shot. If I wanted to win an award it would be perfect. This way, it gives everyone an opportunity to learn a little.

She does have really nice long hair, and I think you'e done an excellent job of backlighting and bringing it out. The one thing that I think would make this better is to lose the distracting orange blur in the right corner.
