Schumacher's Ferrari racing out of the hairpin already reaching speeds of over 240kph - photo taken at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Montreal, Canada (2002).
Thanks for your input and kind words. The shot was taken under rather awkward conditions from a difficult vantage point where the cars were racing directly towards me. There was minimal cropping done, simply to reduce the size of the frame, but the car was very nearly full frame. A higher shutter speed was used because of the nature of subject movement (coming towards me at phenomenal speed), nevertheless motion blur is still apparent. Would I be panning horizontally a slower shutter speed would definitely add the feel of the speed these cars achieve.
Nice colors stephan. did u try any slower shutter speed shots i think they work awesome with race cars..If u have PS the motion blur filter works magic, it would emphasize the speed alot more.. Just my 2 cents.. ;)
Mind you, I am biased, being a massive Schumacher fan... Having said that, this is a great picture. I would love the opportunity to go to a grand prix and have a go at this kind of shot. The only time I do go to a race was 1996, and that was before I got my camera (the same one as yours). Have you got anymore from the race?
